Head of Procurement:
A.G. Barr are seeking a Head of Procurement to lead the Barr Soft Drinks (BSD) Procurement function. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director and forming part of the Supply Chain Leadership team, this role will also be a key business partner for the CEO & Finance Director. This is an exceptional and rare opportunity for a highly experienced, qualified, Procurement Leader to join one of Scotland’s most successful and iconic brands in recent history.
Position Profile:
As Head of Procurement, your main responsibilities include;
Safe and Engaged Teams
Lead, motivate & develop the Procurement team. Support and facilitate team members’ development as Procurement professionals (MCIPS accreditation)
Team being empowered to deliver upon their objectives and realise their ambitions. Consistently Meeting Customer and Consumer Needs
Building resilience of raw and packaging material supplies and mitigating any challenges effectively via effective internal and external relationships
Assume a lead role within the BSD Innovation Committee; guaranteeing New Product Development (NPD) projects are achievable and can be successfully brought to market as per plans
Maximising Contribution through Supply Chain Excellence
Integral member of Supply Chain Leadership Team (SCLT) developing and embedding supply chain strategy and providing key Procurement input
Own strategic supplier relationships and conduct supplier contract negotiations to ensure effective material and service supply on a competitively priced basis
Participation in the Value Optimisation and P2P committees - seeking to maximise contribution via SC Excellence (playing a leading role in both)
Participate in the BSD Treasury Committee providing commodity market guidance to best manage financial risk. Building a Sustainable Supply Chain
Accountable for BSD Procurement Strategy and its continued evolution. Leading execution of the BSD Procurement strategy to deliver risk-based procurement solutions, aligned with strategic business objectives
Stay abreast of industry best practice and standards to inform & evolve BSD approach to Procurement
Develop strategy for provision of third party contract production requirements
Execute contracts with third party fillers and manage the overall product supply process
Regularly review and monitor supplier performance and, where necessary, take corrective action to ensure compliance with Quality Standards and Delivery Schedules and obtain compensation where appropriate
Lead Sustainable Sourcing workstream as part of company’s environmental sustainability “No Time To Waste” programme, to ensure sustainability is at the forefront of forward Procurement strategy
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes;
Experienced FMCG Supply Chain leader, with a proven track record of leading successfully at a senior level, covering both strategic and operational priorities
A fully Qualified Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS)
Advanced negotiation skills, which have been applied within Commercial business context
Strong business acumen with capability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation & external partners
Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate a team and deliver through others
A determination to thrive in ambiguity and is able to adapt to changing business priorities
